ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS of .5 Equity and Inclusion Coordinator
Assists in leading the district in full implementation of the All Students Belong Guidance from the Oregon Department of Education.
Coaches and partners with staff on our equity journey, honoring diverse perspectives, and moving urgently toward a well defined equity lens K-12.
Serves as a co facilitator and lead member of the GS/HS/ and District Equity teams. Assists in bridging the K-8, HS, District Equity Teams in alignment and coherence.
Possesses knowledge of District policies and regulations relating to areas of their responsibilities.
Supports and facilitates the review of applicable District policies and practices.
Develops and implements activities that encourage students, staff and community members to be life-long learners.
Elevates all student voices.
Presents and contributes district-wide/community information sharing/teaching and learning.
Helps to define short-term and long-term growth goals related to RSD commitment to equity, inclusion and teaching of anti-racism.
In support of reaching goals, assists in development of strategic actions and change ideas (policies, practices, procedures, etc)
Assists in developing Key Performance Indicators (KPI) associated with goals that measure implementation and impact.
Assists in gathering, analyzing and presenting DEI Data and other metrics associated with RSD’s KPI (such as SEL, and disaggregated academic performance data).
Supports curriculum review, and augmentation of year long teaching and learning, with experiences inclusive of and beyond heroes and holidays.
Assists in constructing professional development that supports direct instruction and implementation of DEI and anti-racist curriculum. Connects RSD with associated external resources (curriculum, guest speakers, consultants, etc.)
Assists in leading/ co teaching and facilitating K-12 with a lens on curriculum and instruction and elevating non-dominant culture in story telling and perspectives taking.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS of .5 Restorative Justice Coach
Possesses knowledge of District policies and regulations relating to areas of responsibilities.Assists administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated in support of positive behavior and restorative practices.
Supports staff and students in the role of Positive Behavior Supports and Interventions Staff Facilitator including scheduling and leading positive school climate meetings with a wide representation of school staff.
Supports positive and emotionally safe classroom environments (all learning spaces) that are conducive to learning and appropriate to the developmental maturity and interests of the students.
Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior and supports the development of lagging skills.
Facilitate the resolution of student behaviors and conflict both inside and outside of the classroom.
Facilitate the debrief of student conflict/behavior situations with staff as needed.
Harness student leadership potential through positive peer modeling and support opportunities inclusive of support for new students to our school.
Serve as a leader on the HS MTSS Team (Multi-tiered Systems of Support).
Supports ongoing professional development of staff in PBIS and Restorative Practices. Serve as a sounding board and professional resource for staff relative to student behavior and growth.
Strives to implement by instruction and action the District’s philosophy of education, instructional goals and other objectives.
Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation.
Intentionally cultivates and supports restorative practices throughout our school community.
Helps to define short-term and long-term growth goals related to school commitment to restorative practices.
In support of reaching goals, assists in development of strategic actions and change ideas (policies, practices, procedures, etc)
Assists in developing Key Performance Indicators (KPI) associated with goals that measure implementation and impact.
Assists in gathering, analyzing and presenting behavior data and other metrics associated with RSD’s KPI (such as SEL, and disaggregated academic performance data).
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Works with classroom volunteers as needed to provide enhanced learning opportunities for students.
Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as requested or needed.
Supervises students both in and out of the classroom.
Maintains professional competence through participation in District provided in-service activities and/or self-selected professional growth activities related to job responsibilities.
Performs other duties as assigned within contractual parameters and multitasks and prioritizes effectively.
Adheres to all provisions of the currently negotiated Certified Contract.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATES/LICENSES
We believe the qualifications for this job represent a unique background and we are open to a variety of licensures.
Valid Oregon License (Teaching, Counseling, Social Work, ect.).
Evidence of leading, or facilitating growth and development in there areas of Equity and Inclusion in an educational setting.
Experience leading, or facilitating Restorative Practices.
EDUCATION/VOCATIONAL PREPARATION
Appropriate Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
Successful student teaching, intern teaching, or past teaching experience.
Evidence of successful support of student behaviors and training/experience/learning beyond the classroom.
Evidence of knowledge in the areas of restorative justice/practices, and DEI work.
Evidence of a commitment to Restorative Justice and Restorative Practices.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary, fringe benefits, working conditions and the like are negotiated between the Riverdale School Board and Riverdale Teachers’ Association.
