GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
To assist students in reaching their full potential for intellectual, physical, emotional, social, and psychological development and growth, and to assist in maintaining a safe and secure school environment.
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:
• Required to hold an Oregon teaching license as set by the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission for the State of Oregon.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Plan appropriate lessons and activities to meet students’ needs
2. Use effective classroom management techniques.
3. Use a variety of instructional techniques based upon sound education theory which are appropriate to students’ needs.
4. Assess student performance, maintains student records, and interprets and utilizes the results of student performance assessment
5. Communicate, cooperate, and work effectively with other teachers, administrators, parents, support staff, students, and the public.
6. Demonstrate a consistent and professional attitude toward the accomplishment of building, District, and State goals.
7. Implement modifications and accommodations for all students with IEP’s.
8. Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and PLT’s.
9. Maintain and update current Grade Book and online ParentVue.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of Board policy.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to diverse groups.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
