ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST- HELP DESK- Technology & Information Services
Classification: Classified 260 day calendar
Reports to: Controller
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Accounting Specialist- Help Desk is part of a K-12 Business Services Team, delivering comprehensive system support to our agency and school districts all over the state of Oregon. As part of this team, the Accounting Specialist will assist K-12 Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in technical accounting issues arising from using School ERP Pro powered by Infinite Visions through various mediums, utilizing the Help Desk ticket system and escalating client problems to higher-level technicians. They provide excellent customer support for School ERP Pro software in alignment with department/client service level agreements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree in accounting, computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
Experience supporting software users in person or on the phone.
Basic understanding of computer database development and use.
Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, including accounting processes, general ledger management and financial reporting.
Experience providing accounting-related support, such as assisting users with software-based ledger reconciliation, transactions, or reporting in a large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
Demonstrated experience with other software tools, such as Microsoft Office.
Highly developed written and oral communication and public speaking skills.
Demonstrated experience in organization and management of documents, file versions, etc.

Utilize teleservice platform to provide services to educators, students and district staff as directed.
Ability to lift, carry at least 25 pounds.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time in a work setting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide customer support by responding accurately in a timely and effective manner to issues.
Assist districts with accounting-related inquiries within Infinite Visions, including navigation of ledgers, financial transactions, and reporting tools.
Respond to calls and support tickets from district staff needing guidance on accounting processes within Infinite Visions.
Provide user support for general ledger reconciliation, account coding, and financial reporting within the system
Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to resolve or escalate issues.
Document functions and processes related to the use of education software.
Stay current with statewide educational technology initiatives and work closely with stakeholders as they provide targeted professional development to help districts with their data needs.
Troubleshoot, assign, and/or escalate tickets in the agency’s ticketing system.
Develop training curricula and conduct formal training sessions covering assigned applications; conduct informal training as requested; develop recorded video training and software assistance tools.
Develop specifications for small to medium-sized projects.
Organize and write systems documentation aimed at the proper reader levels.
Provide end-user support for the agency, its component districts, and other clients.
SALARY AND BENEFIT INFORMATION
Salary and benefit information shown are based on full-time employment (1.0 FTE) based on the current school year
Placement on the Linn Benton Lincoln ESD Classified salary schedule will be commensurate with applicant’s qualifications, relevant training, and experience
Linn Benton Lincoln ESD will provide an Insurance CAP to assist with health, dental and vision insurance premiums
