Roseburg Public Schools is seeking a full-time Payroll Specialist position at the Central Office starting July 1, 2025. The work calendar for this position is 12-months (260 days) in a full academic year. This is a Confidential position and not part of a bargaining unit. A job description is attached.

Under limited direction and supervision, the Payroll Specialist performs difficult and responsible work involved in processing and recording payroll information and filing federal and state reports and payments. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to learn complex software systems; understand and follow all federal and state payroll rules and regulations; be extremely organized; provide information and assistance to employees, administrators, job applicants, and the general public; and be a positive, proactive, and contributing member of the Business Operations Team. Most tasks are non-routine and require a considerable reliance upon the use of independent judgment. Employee must deal professionally and diplomatically with highly confidential and sensitive information and issues and is therefore expected to possess and exercise the highest level of professional ethics. Only on occasion are questions referred to the supervisor for advice. Requires frequent communication with non-district personnel during which time this employee is the sole representative of the district. Salary Range: $32.03-$39.36, placement depending on previous experience

The position also requires a non-refundable fingerprinting fee of $78.50.
