Plans, organizes, and directs the athletic programs at the school level to provide comprehensive, equitable, and integrated athletic opportunities for students. Builds a strong school-based athletic culture that supports student growth, leadership development, and competitive success, while advocating for the needs of athletes and athletic programs.

1. Leadership & Vision:
Develops and implements a vision for athletics that promotes school spirit, student participation, and inclusivity.
Coordinates athletic programs to ensure alignment with the school and district’s mission, vision, and goals.
Advocates for the value of athletics and student-athlete development within the school community.
2. Program Development:
Establishes a comprehensive and equitable athletic program that ensures opportunities for all students to participate and succeed.
Builds feeder programs in coordination with community and youth sports organizations to strengthen high school athletic teams.
Develops and enforces policies, procedures, and student-athlete handbooks for the safe and effective operation of athletic programs.
3. Equity & Inclusion:
Ensures athletic programs meet Title IX requirements and promotes equitable access for all students, regardless of gender, background, or ability.
Supports Unified Sports and other inclusive athletic opportunities.
4. Operations Management:
Oversees scheduling for practices, games, transportation, and facility use.
Coordinates with district staff and community partners to address transportation and facility needs.
Supervises game-day operations, ensuring smooth and safe event execution.
5. Staff Supervision & Development:
Recruits, hires, supervises, and evaluates all coaching staff in collaboration with the principal.
Facilitates professional development for coaches, emphasizing leadership, student-athlete well-being, and skill development.
Provides mentorship and guidance to coaching staff to foster program success.
6. Budget & Resource Management:
Manages the school’s athletic budget, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
Oversees athletic fundraising efforts, booster club partnerships, and revenue generation.
Prepares and monitors financial reports, ensuring compliance with district policies.
7. Student-Athlete Development:
Promotes student leadership, character development, and academic success through athletic participation.
Develops programs that emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork, and resilience.
Monitors the academic and behavioral progress of student-athletes, collaborating with staff to provide appropriate interventions.
8. Community Engagement:
Serves as the primary liaison between the school and community partners, including youth sports organizations and parent groups.
Promotes athletic events and achievements through newsletters, social media, and school-wide communication.
