Dayton School District is seeking a licensed special education teacher to lead our grade school Structured Learning Classroom (SLC). This individual will work diligently to provide a comprehensive and inclusive learning experience through direct instruction and curriculum design for elementary students with significant learning needs and varied levels of ability. Experience with or the willingness to quickly and effectively learn strategies for working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as Functional Behavior Routines, Pivotal Response and Discrete Trial training methods, and experience with medically fragile students are all desired. An ability to manage and meet timelines for IEP paperwork while building and maintaining effective working relationships with multiple specialists in service to the students in the classroom will be essential to this position. Leading a team of paraprofessionals while also building and maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, and staff will also be very important.

Physical Demands: The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; and use hands for fine manipulation, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to bodily fluids or blood borne pathogens. The noise level in the work environment varies.

Salary Range: $45,289 - $92,390
