Dr. Raeshelle Meyer Joins COSA as New Director of Professional Learning

Salem, Oregon- The Coalition of Oregon School Administrators (COSA) rounded out its team by naming Dr. Raeshelle Meyer as new Director of Professional Learning. Dr. Meyer comes to COSA with a wealth of experience and strong partnerships across the state, particularly in small and rural communities.

Dr. Meyer has over 25 years of experience in education in Oregon ranging from classroom teacher to  superintendent, and most recently has served as the Small and Rural Schools Program Manager at the Oregon Department of Education (ODE). Her passion for interrupting systems that impede opportunities for students to be successful, especially students from focal populations, made Dr. Meyer a standout candidate in a competitive pool. Additionally, her deep knowledge of federal and state legislation and the real impacts in the field will provide a bridge between COSA’s legislative and professional learning teams.

“This process brought forward some really incredible talent- we were grateful for the opportunity to interview stellar candidates. What made Raeshelle stand out was her deep commitment to and relationships in Eastern Oregon, an area where we need to focus more of our efforts,” shared COSA Executive Director, Dr. Krista Parent.

As Dr. Meyer transitioned out of her previous role and into her position at COSA, her commitment to serving students and communities did not waiver. As the new Director of Professional Learning, Dr. Meyer is responsible for engaging educational leaders across the state and ensuring all voices are heard. She shared, “I am honored to join the COSA team and excited to continue advocating for equitable opportunities in education across Oregon. My goal is to build on the strong partnerships and deep-rooted knowledge I’ve gained over the years to support and empower our educational leaders, especially in small, rural, and remote communities. Together, we can create impactful, positive outcomes for each student in Oregon."

Dr. Meyer officially began at COSA on September 1st.
