POSITION:
•Athletics Director (Middle School)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
• Contract is for the 2024/25 School Year (One week after high school sports start until end of school year)

SALARY:
• Middle School Athletics Director Stipend $3,000

REPORTS TO:
• Reports to High School Athletics Director

STARTING DATE:
• August 26, 2024

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for updating and implementing regulations in coach’s handbook and athletic & activities handbook.
• Organizes and administers interscholastic activities for the middle school.
• Assumes responsibility for the organization and scheduling of interscholastic athletic events.
• Places into operation appropriate rules and regulations governing the conduct of athletic activities.
• Provides leadership in the selection, assignment training and annual evaluation of athletic coaches and staff members.
• Fosters good school-community relations by keeping the community aware of and responsive to the athletic program.
• Supporting and promoting athletics in the community.
• Recruit and support volunteers to work with athletic programs.
• Assumes general responsibility for the proper supervision of home games.
• Oversee and administer the athletic program budget in cooperation with High School Athletics Director.
• Oversee purchasing and inventory of all supplies and equipment, must get approval High School Athletic Director.
• Coordinates with athletics secretary to arrange field and gym practice schedules.
• Coordinates with athletic secretary to verify each athlete’s eligibility.
• Ensures the physical examination of athletes to meet District Policies prior to the beginning of each season.
• Administers the insurance program covering school athletes and assumes responsibility for all processing of reports and claims. Report to High School athletics director.
• Coordinates with athletic secretary to arrange transportation for athletic contest participants.
• Arranges all details of visiting teams' needs, including towels, gymnasium services and field assistance, as appropriate.
• Attends all away games per league policies or hires representatives to be there.
• Keeps records of the results of all athletic contests, and maintains a record file of all award winners, stating the date and type of award including athletic scholarships.
• Plans and supervises an annual recognition program for school athletes.
• Supports coaches in communicating with parents and athletes.
• Attends local and statewide athletic director meetings as necessary or when High School athletics director cannot attend
• Supports efforts to ensure student athletes physical safety and well-being; and
• Other duties as assigned by the High school Athletic Director.
• Responsible for setting up home events for middle school events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 A valid Oregon teaching or administrative license.
 Degrees and areas of study as required for Oregon licensing.
 Prior job-related experience will be preferred but is not required.
 Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
 Valid First Aid Card or obtain one within 2 months of employment.
