Job Title: Mosier Community School K-8 General Music Specialist

Job Purpose Statement:
The job of "Teacher - General Music" is done for the purpose/s of developing students' skills in listening and creating music, and in world music appreciation. The music teacher will implement district approved curriculum, document student progress/activities/outcomes, develop lesson plans, address specific educational needs of students, provide a safe and optimal learning environment, and provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student growth and achievement.

Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required:
Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
Participates in various meetings (e.g. parent conferences, in-service training, site meetings, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and/or providing information and/or meeting credential requirements
Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of supporting teacher's expectations, developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment
Works collaboratively with various groups and stakeholders

Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
Preference given to those with an Oregon Teaching License with music endorsement
Pass criminal background check
Complete annual employee mandatory training
