The Happiness of Pursuit: How to Organize Schools So That Every Child Graduates Ready to Thrive in An Increasingly Complex World
In this breakout session, Dr. Joshua P. Starr will engage participants in designing schools that promote happiness. Schools, as public institutions, should help all students pursue happiness, as it’s a founding tenet of America. But happiness is too often thought of as joy or pleasure, rather than the discipline needed to live a fulfilling and productive life. As the SEL movement has taken hold, Dr. Starr will show participants how schools can go a step further and ensure that all students learn how to live life on their own terms.
