Shift the paradigm from schooling done TO communities to authentic collaboration WITH communities. Multilingual families can offer valuable assets and perspectives to our schools, yet too often, schools do not position them as leaders. This workshop will help participants reflect on their family engagement practices and explore research-based strategies. Through critical and contextualized frameworks, participants will reflect on the mindsets, relationships, and practices that allow families to be leaders and co-designers of their children's education. Participants will also develop personalized plans to develop authentic family partnerships.
