This session will focus on the range of root causes that create many of the attendance issues that exist across Oregon.  Ideas and opportunities to address those issues will be shared without falling into the ‘one-size-fits-all’ pit. Sample ‘principles of practice’ will be offered as building blocks for districts to use as a basis for taking effective action that specifically and sustainably support improved attendance and better behavior. Supporting information related to Equity, Trauma, Well-being and SEL will be woven into the session. The presenter will acknowledge and support the differing needs among diverse Oregon districts. A variety of content formats, activities, group work and team time will be used. Some of the content will be new and challenging….and hopefully productive for those who are serious about better attendance. The content of this session will not focus on specific attendance products or programs, especially those marketed for profit.
