Supporting Students with Oregon and Federal Civil Rights Law
Oregon students deserve to access their education free from discrimination and harassment. This session will focus on understanding and implementing Oregon and Federal civil rights laws. Topics include: the intersections of Title IX and Oregon law (sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity discrimination), Section 504 (disability status discrimination), and Title VI and Oregon law (race, color, and national origin discrimination); best practices for creating safe and equitable environments; hot topics in civil rights. Participants will engage with scenarios and discuss frequently asked questions. This session is appropriate for Title IX Coordinators, Section 504 Coordinators, Superintendents, Building Administrators, and more.
