1.0 FTE Licensed Technology Coordinator

Bethel School District is seeking appropriately licensed candidates for 1.0 FTE Instructional Technology Coordinator. This position provides professional develop, training, support and guidance to all staff so they may effectively use hardware, programs and other technology in instructional programs district-wide. This position will assist in the development of plans for integration of technology into the instructional program.

About the Position:

The Bethel Technology Coordinator's work is guided by the Director of Technology and Curriculum Directors, and is supervised by the Director of Operations. This position is a 195-day contract with an extended contract of up to 15 days for professional development and planning. The start date for this position in the 2022-2023 School Year is January 9th, 2023.

Job roles and Responsibilities

Act as the Technology Department Liaison to the Instruction Department, Teaching staff, and Building administrators with regard to digital curriculum and instructional technology.
Coordinate BLIS classes (Bethel Learning Institute of Summer)
Assist with creating and instructing formal face-to-face inservice training
Create online instructional technology training
Assist with instructional technology purchase decisions and placement
Act as Bethel’s liaison to Lane County district technology coordinators and the Lane ESD
Manage Bethel Google Suite accounts (approximately 5,000)
Manage the Bethel Google Suite of applications
Provide staff training for District Digital Curriculum and Technology. This includes, but is not limited to, Google Workspace, District Curriculum platforms, Microsoft Office suite of products, WordPress, Chromebooks, iPads and DataPort, & Symbaloo.
Manage and troubleshoot digital curriculum issues for staff and students including, but not limited to, Clever, Google Classroom, Savvas, McGraw Hill, Zoom, etc.,
Respond to Help Desk Tickets related to iPads, Chromebooks, instructional technology software, DataPort, WordPress and Google Suite
Update Bethel’s District Technology Plan
Facilitate ADA Compliance for Bethel’s Web presence

Selection Factors

Knowledge of educational programs offered in all schools and of basic educational techniques, as required by the position
Ability to develop and deliver technology training and professional development to adult learners
Knowledge of Google Workspace Management, database management and Wordpress Content Management System
Knowledge of ADA Web Accessibility
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to work with small groups and individuals
Ability to prepare materials for lesson plans and adapt, as needed, to meet the needs of learners
Ability to interact positively with children and adults, and observe individual learner abilities
Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, administrators, parents and co-workers
Ability to safely and proficiently operate standard office and audio-visual equipment, as required by the position
Ability to maintain an appropriate and legal level of confidentiality regarding students, staff, and other individuals
Ability to maintain regular, predictable and prompt attendance
Minimum qualifications:

6 years of Classroom Experience in a K-12 classroom
Extensive knowledge of Google Workspace, District Curriculum platforms, Microsoft Office suite of products, WordPress, Chromebooks, iPads and DataPort, & Symbaloo
4 year bachelor degree from an accredited institution.
Culturally proficient skills and strategies
Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
Knowledge of technologies available for use in an instructional setting
Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
New staff must be fully vaccinated to meet the COVID-19 vaccine mandate or have an approved exception.
Highly desirable qualifications:

Valid Oregon Teaching License
Bilingual or multilingual abilities, preferably Spanish/English
Experience working in richly diverse school communities and environments
At least five years of teaching experience
