Scappoose School District seeks a caring and experienced K-12 district librarian to provide high quality library-media coordination and instruction for our students, staff, and schools for the 2022-2023 school year. Position requirements:
Valid Oregon license through TSPC with proper endorsement. This position provides an environment which is safe and conducive to learning while providing professional/technical education services to a diverse population of students. Instruct students, maintain student discipline and is responsible for student academic achievement. Provide leadership and professional development on the use of media resources for students, teachers, and District staff in support of teaching and learning throughout the District. Develop and manage media resources in support of the instructional program.
Position responsibilities include:
- Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment
- Utilize the District’s electronic systems and applications related to the job
- Provide instruction in digital citizenship, digital literacy, and critical thinking in the use of educational technology for staff and students
- Provide instruction to students and teachers and the skills necessary to become independent users of media resources
- Provide leadership for investment in media resources according to District Policy, including staff and student input
- Assist with the management and use of media resources appropriate to the instructional needs of staff and students throughout the district
- Assist with the provision of print resources, digital resources, software, and equipment which aid in the learning process and support the instructional program
- Monitor media resources so that they are responsive to the needs of students based on the language and culture of student populations
- Supervise the compilation of data and inventory
