Rick Stiggins workshop, 'Increasing Assessment Quality for Teacher Evaluation,' set for Aug. 19
A full-day workshop on a timely and relevant topic, Increasing Assessment Quality for Teacher Evaluation, with Rick Stiggins, is set for August 19 at the Hilton DoubleTree at Lloyd Center in Portland.
This workshop will serve as a full-day follow-up, for district and school teams of teachers and administrators, on Stiggins’ keynote address at the Aug. 6-8 Oregon Summer Assessment Institute. As school leaders know, it is essential to develop “Assessment Literate” teachers and principals as we begin to use documented student growth as measures for teacher and principal evaluation. The workshop will deliver on the equation: Classroom Assessment + Teacher Evaluation Context = Increased Formative Assessment Quality.
Throughout the day on the 19th, Stiggins will engage building and district teams to show them how to promote a deeper understanding of the standards of assessment quality that will be required in the teacher evaluation context. Materials, lunch, and Rick’s latest book on the subject: Classroom Assessment for Student Learning: Doing It Right, Using it Well, are all included in registration.
