North Clackamas School District’s Shelly Reggiani Selected for AASA National Women in Education Leadership Award

This morning, at the AASA National Conference on Education in San Diego, Shelly Reggiani, Ed. D., was given the AASA National Women in Education Leadership Award. Dr. Reggiani is the Executive Director of Equity and Instructional Services in the North Clackamas School District and was selected as the winner of the “Central Office Administrator/Principal” category for leadership, communication skills, professionalism, and community involvement.

“Shelly has had a tremendous influence as a leader for equity, not only in North Clackamas, but throughout Oregon,” said Craig Hawkins, Executive Director of COSA. “She is a trusted colleague and valued resource for so many leaders who are committed to the success of each and every student in our schools. We are proud and excited that Shelly has received national recognition for her exceptional contributions in Oregon education.”

Dr. Reggiani has worked for North Clackamas School District for 25 years, as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and district administrator. Throughout her career, she has been a champion for inclusion and removing barriers for historically underserved students. She has championed the expansion of dual language emersion programs and revamped the district’s Talented and Gifted program to ensure that diverse students are identified at the same rate as others.

Both Dr. Reggiani and Gustavo Balderas, who was awarded the AASA National Superintendent of the Year Award yesterday, serve on COSA’s Equity Advisory Board representing administrators of color from across Oregon. COSA is thrilled to have Oregon so well-represented at the national level. Please join COSA in celebrating and congratulating these two leaders’ exceptional achievements.
