COSA was proud to honor our 2018 award winners at the 44th Annual COSA Conference in Seaside, June 21st-23rd this year. Each year, COSA takes pride in recognizing and honoring the accomplishments of our members and the work they do to improve students' lives. Congratulations to the following award winners.

COSA is pleased to announce the addition to its staff of Krista Parent, former AASA National Superintendent of the Year, as Director of Executive Leadership. Krista, who recently retired from her position as Superintendent of South Lane School District, will begin work in July.

The Legislative Revenue Office released the June 2018 Revenue Forecast this week. The forecast contains both good news and frustrating news, especially for school administrators, according to COSA’s Deputy Executive Director of Policy and Advocacy, Morgan Allen.

The results of the Teaching, Empowering, Leading, and Learning (TELL) Survey were released on Monday by the Oregon Chief Education Office at the Oregon Department of Education.

Gresham-Barlow Deputy Superintendent James Hiu has been elected as COSA President-Elect for 2018-19. COSA members voted via online ballot last month. The COSA Board of Directors officially accepted election results at their meeting last week.

The Oregon Association of Latino Administrators (OALA) is proud to announce the application process for the 2018-19 Aspiring Administrator Leadership Program has been extended until April 15, 2018.  

Athletes at Centennial High School(Gresham), Gervais Middle School and Henley Middle School (Klamath Falls) will benefit from the 2018 California Casualty Thomas R. Brown Athletics Grant program.

The 2018 TELL Survey opened February 1st and runs throughout the month, inviting feedback on teaching and learning conditions from teachers and administrators at Oregon schools.

Colt Gill, formerly Superintendent of Bethel School District and Oregon's Education Innovation Officer, was announced today as the Governor's choice to lead the Oregon Department of Education.

House Speaker Tina Kotek and Senate President Peter Courtney announced the creation of the Joint Committee on Student Success today.
