A bit of good news, and maybe some bad news, from state revenue forecast
Yesterday’s Oregon Revenue Forecast was a case of good news and maybe bad news.
The good news was that Oregon’s revenue picture continues to show modest growth -- $11 million in this quarter. The maybe bad news is that a growth spurt of about $29 million over the next six months could result in the personal kicker kicking and the state facing a personal taxpayer refund of between $300 and $500 million. The state economists also predicted a corporate kicker of about $56 million but that money was dedicated to schools in the last session of the Legislature.
Generally, the economic outlook for the state remains one of stable growth but with an unemployment rate that has generally remained unchanged throughout 2014.
