Bend-La Pine Schools is encouraging exceptional candidates to apply for the position of Principal at Elk Meadow Elementary School. Elk Meadow Elementary School is located in southwest Bend and is projected to have approximately 500 students for the 2014-15 school year. New housing developments and continued growth bring exciting new demographics to the Elk Meadow neighborhood. Elk Meadow Elementary has consistently been a high performing school and has received exceptional ratings from the Oregon Department of Education.

The District will conduct a visit to the current job site of the top candidate prior to offering the position. The successful candidate will assume the position July 1, 2014 and will report to the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education.

COMPENSATION
• 224 day contract

• Salary estimate based on 14/15 schedule: $94,461 - $100,128

Unlike many districts, Bend-La Pine Schools currently pays the
employee’s portion of PERS bringing the comparable total compensation
to a range of $100,129 - $106136

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Hold or qualified for appropriate Oregon Administrative license

• Record of increasingly responsible education positions, including site leadership experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Extensive experience as an elementary classroom teacher
Knowledge of best practices in literacy and mathematics instruction
Demonstrated success in working with students and families from diverse backgrounds
Experience with EBISS
Knowledge of special education programming, instructional practices, and laws
Experience with integration of curricula and program development
