Senior Software Developer/Analyst

Brief Description of Position
Senior Software Developer/Analyst executes the rapid design, prototyping, development, and testing of innovative and scalable applications supporting internal and external customers of the District. The Senior Software Developer/Analyst serves as a member of a team to develop creative solutions to optimize instruction and operations. This position prepares technical documentations for systems.
Salary Range: $ 79,001 – 106,738
Personal Qualifications:
a. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field. Masters preferred
b. Recognized expert in specific areas related to software development
c. Training and successfully demonstrated experience in Object-Oriented Programming using applications like C#, .NET, and Java
d. Experience developing scalable applications using structured, iterative development methodologies
e. Works at the highest level of all technical phases of programming; requires a high degree of creative thinking and the ability to use accumulated knowledge and experience of others
f. Experience developing complex queries like SQL and MSSQL
g. Experience using XML as data sources and integration processes like API and LTI
h. Experience with developing data warehouse solutions
i. Experience programming with file systems, server architectures, and distributed systems
j. Ability to write clear and concise software documentation and technical correspondence
k. Detail-oriented with good organizational and statistics skills
l. Ability to communicate and work collaboratively as a member of the Information Services team in an active, open environment
m. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
n. Proven track record working on multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
o. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the community
p. Travel to various sites as required
q. Ability to effectively work and communicate with individuals from diverse cultures or backgrounds
r. Maintain the integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or district patrons
s. Ability to work harmoniously with others.
Essential Responsibilities:
a. Design, prototype, and rapidly implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable applications
b. Be proactive in continuously researching existing systems, developing updated, progressive solutions to support instruction and the District when needed
c. Work closely with the Director of School Improvement, Programmers, and other departmental staff to design and implement innovative solutions to improve instructional and operational capabilities
d. Keep the Director of School Improvement appraised of the status of assigned projects and all issues on a regular basis
e. Work with leadership to develop long-range planning and vision for the District
f. Provide on-going support for existing software/hardware systems. Expected to be able to recommend improvements to any system to optimize infrastructure
g. Other programming/system operational duties as required
h. Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment.
