YAMHILL CARLTON HIGH SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL / ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Oregon Administrative License.
Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience, preferably at the secondary school level.
Administrative experience preferred.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.
REPORTS TO: YCHS Principal
JOB GOAL: To use leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each student and professional development of each staff member. Manage and supervise athletics.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, develops, and supervises the instructional programs of the school within the policies, guidelines, rules, and regulations of the School Board, Superintendent, State Board of Education, and state and federal regulations, including curriculum, teaching materials, and methods necessary to meet the Oregon requirements.
Manage and oversee the day to day disciplinary infractions while creating and promoting a healthy, positive culture within the school.
Keeps abreast of all existing and emerging District, state and federal policies, guidelines, and regulations in order to maintain high academic standards for all students.
Monitors assessment of all required testing by the state and District.
Assists in evaluation of all building staff including classified and licensed, following district guidelines.
Maintains an emotionally healthy and physically safe environment conducive to the total educational development of the students. Promotes and maintains effective student discipline. Implements plans for emergency situations.
Assists in the supervision of all student activities including after school programs, student government, academic programs and clubs, evening programs, athletic events, etc.
Helps monitor and supports student support teams and the special education referral process. Assures the development and provision of TAG plans, IEPs, 504 accommodations, acts District representative in the IEP process, and Title IX coordinator for the school.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position generally works in the school/office environment with frequent travel to day and evening meetings and activities. High level of contact with district personnel, students, parents and outside agencies and community.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The employee may: stand/walk 6-8 hours; sit 6-8 hours; drive 1-4 hours. The employee may use hands for repetitive single grasping, fine manipulation, and pushing/pulling 100 pounds maximum. The employee may bend, squat, lift, and climb stairs.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position is for the 2025-2026 school year.
220 day contract
Salary to be established by the School Board between $109,755 - $124,178 for 24-25 School Year
Work schedule to be established by the Principal and Superintendent.
District Pays Employees 6% PERS
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board’s policy on evaluation of administrative personnel.
