Schedule: 190 Days + 3 days new teacher in-service

SUMMARY: KECDC is seeking a dynamic and passionate early childhood education teacher who is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth of young children. This role includes designing and implementing engaging instructional activities that meet individual learning needs while promoting curiosity and school readiness. The teacher works closely with families and collaborates with professionals from various agencies to support each child’s success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide a stimulating, safe, and developmentally appropriate educational environment that supports effective learning, where children have the opportunity to develop cognitive, social, emotional, language, communication, literacy, and physical skills.
Prepare thoroughly for assigned classes and provide written evidence of lesson planning and preparation upon request from the immediate supervisor.
Teach and model appropriate classroom behavior; encourage students to follow established expectations and routines.
Participating in eligibility evaluations, coordinating services as part of Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), and serving as a key member of a collaborative service team to ensure a comprehensive, child-centered approach to early learning and intervention.
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies tailored to the developmental needs and capabilities of individual students and groups.
Observe, assess, collect, and record data on each child’s progress toward meeting instructional and developmental goals.
Collaborate with colleagues in planning instructional objectives, curriculum activities, and teaching methods, maintaining cooperative and professional relationships with other staff members.
Foster and maintain open, ongoing communication with students and their families to support student learning and development.
Provide leadership and functional supervision to instructional aides or volunteers.
Assist Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education (EI/ECSE) program staff in all aspects of transitions within the EI/ECSE program and in preparing children for successful transition into public school programs.
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and serve on committees, advisory groups, or task forces as directed.
Participate in the identification, evaluation, and placement of children eligible for EI/ECSE services, contributing to collaborative decision-making processes.
Maintain and enhance basic technology skills, including the use of email, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, as necessary for effective communication and documentation.
Create and maintain an organized, clean, and inclusive classroom environment that reflects and supports diverse cultures and learning styles.
Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, safety procedures, and health protocols.
Attend work regularly and as scheduled; maintain punctuality and reliability.
Demonstrate the physical and mental ability to perform all functions of the job; reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education practices, trends, and regulations.
Perform other educationally related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, EXPERIENCE:
Qualified applicants must hold or qualify for an Oregon teaching license; or, possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, special education or a related field; or, hold current registration with Oregon Resistry Online (ORO) as a Step 8 ORO.
