Beaverton is a remarkable place. Located just seven miles west of downtown Portland, midway between Mt. Hood and the Oregon coast, Beaverton combines the best of a big city, the ease of a suburb, and the peaceful surroundings of a small town.
The third largest school district in Oregon, the Beaverton School District serves 38,000 students and is home to more than 250,000 residents in Beaverton, parts of Portland and Washington County. Home to Nike and the “Silicon Forest,” and located adjacent to Portland, Beaverton is an exciting, cosmopolitan community — far more international than most cities its size. About 40 percent of Beaverton residents identify as a person of color and nearly 20 percent were born outside of the United States. The families in our district speak more than 100 languages at home. This richness of cultural diversity is what makes Beaverton such a vibrant city.
As identified in our district statement – Belong, Believe, Achieve – we aim to create an environment in which our students, families and staff feel a deep sense of belonging and support to succeed in their school communities.
