Coburg Community Charter School is looking for an enthusiastic and student centered 1st grade teacher to join our school community. CCCS is a small charter school with 1 class of 25 students per grade level, grades K-8. We are looking for someone who values and supports our ‘people first’ approach to developing and sustaining a comprehensive education program that does great things for kids.

CCCS offers prospective educators a truly special school environment where the educators are empowered to teach, the families are involved and supportive of our staff, and our colleagues are intrinsically invested in keeping our school a great place to be. We recognize the value and importance of a work/school environment that is supportive and responsive to needs in the classroom, and as such our staff appreciates the freedom to “be a teacher” that is created here at CCCS.

This position offers the chance to really get to know the families and colleagues with whom we work, and be an integral part of a unique school community. As such, the perfect person for this critical role is someone who independently strives to make sure each child receives a top notch experience, and professionally enjoys the opportunities to wear some different hats around the school. Educators that thrive on and can leverage relational connections will do well here at CCCS.

This is a full time 1.0 FTE position. Anticipated starting salary is $42,120 - $51,480 depending on experience and qualifications. teaching staff requiring a Charter Registry start at a salary of $39,000. Full time positions include fully paid health insurance premiums, life insurance and full PERS contributions for the employee only, and a 186 days a year teacher calendar. We offer a robust mentoring program for new teachers, and a unique surplus sharing retention bonus for continuing employees.
TSPC license or ability to obtain Charter Registry (skills and training needed to be a successful teacher, but not yet fully certified in the state) is required. Full background check and fingerprinting also required for those not already licensed in Oregon.

If you are interested in serving a school community in which you are empowered and expected to reach your full potential as an educator, we are interested in hearing from and getting to know you better. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact our executive director, Dave Wallace, at director@coburgcharter.org.
We also encourage potential applicants to explore their professional and personal connections to learn about our school community - we expect you will hear great things.

To apply please send a resume, letter of interest, and three letters of recommendation to director@coburgcharter.org.

15 minute screening interviews will be conducted with qualified candidates as applications are received, with a final due date for applications on March 26th. Second round committee interviews will likely be conducted the week of April 7th and may include writing prompts and/or mini-lesson presentations.
