Position: Full-Time Middle School Teacher (Grades 6-8) for the 25-26 school year
Location: Mosier Middle School, Mosier, OR
Start Date: August 2025

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
● Start Date – August 2025
● 1.0 FTE – 190-day contract (possibly moving to a 4-day student contact week schedule, contract days will be less, but daily hours will increase).
● Current 2024-25 school year base salary is $47,565.48 - $92,164.22 depending on years of teaching experience and college credits as per the MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
● Health, dental, and vision insurance
● District paid employee contribution to PERS (Public Employees Retirement System) MCS covers the full 6% for PERS retirement

Mosier Middle School is a small, public charter school that serves students in grades 6 through 8. Sponsored by the NWASCO School District, we provide a supportive, student-centered environment where personalized learning, community engagement, and place-based education are at the forefront of our teaching philosophy. Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Self-Contained Middle School Teacher for grades 6-8 to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing an inclusive and engaging learning experience that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and personal growth. As a self-contained teacher, you will be responsible for delivering instruction across all core subjects to your assigned group of students. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with a small, tight-knit community and to help shape a positive and inspiring learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging, standards-based curriculum in the core subject areas (Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts).
Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom that promotes positive behavior, academic achievement, and personal development.
Design lessons that incorporate place-based learning and real-world connections, utilizing the natural environment and local community as resources.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with varying academic levels, strengths, and needs.
Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and the community to create interdisciplinary projects and learning experiences.
Participate in school-wide events, extracurricular activities, and ongoing professional development.
Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress, behavior, and school activities.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a multi-age classroom environment.
Strong commitment to place-based learning and project-based education.
Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus, but not required.
Experience in teaching middle school students, with a focus on differentiated instruction and student-centered practices.
Knowledge of social-emotional learning practices and how to integrate them into the classroom.
Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and the broader school community.
Oregon Teaching License with appropriate endorsements (or the ability to obtain within a reasonable time).

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
Valid Oregon Teaching License (or ability to obtain).
Experience with or a strong interest in working within a charter school setting.
Passion for middle school education and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.
