This position directs overall development, coordination, maintenance and support of district wide technology infrastructure including, but mot limited to: networks, servers, security, phones, computer hardware and software systems. Must be able to provide technology support to students and staff districtwide.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develops plan for cleaning and maintaining a safe environment throughout the assigned building.
2. Maintains technology operations to include systems administration, network management, telecommunications management, system and data security, system and data backup and emergency recovery plans.
3. Plans for, establishes, and maintains the districtwide database systems. Responsible for assuring data integrity and assisting staff in data access and utilization.
4. Provides leadership in identifying hardware and software needs and purchases, ensuring that they are consistent with the school system instructional technology plan and state technology guidelines.
5. Uses the state and local technology plans to establish standards for the purchase of equipment, software, related media, and supplies for instructional technology integration and management activities according to the local purchasing guidelines. Supervises and maintains the system-wide inventory of technology assets.
6. Works with all other administrative staff to implement and support instructional technology initiatives. Coordinates staff development in technology competencies for district staff at all levels.
7. Implements a ticketing system for technology related technology needs, repairs, and maintenance. Develops protocols to ensure tickets are completed in a timely manner and accurately.
8. Oversees and manages the E-Rate program for the district.
9. Serves as a liaison between the district and the ESD and other service providers as needed.
10. Exercises overall leadership for federal, state and private source grants to support technology and telecommunications operations, enhancements, and support activities.
11. Develops and implements continuity protocols to minimize disruption of school operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.
12. Anticipates and develops strategies and programs that respond effectively to the needs and the changing profession.
13. Stays abreast of research on the changing nature of the profession, the field of public education and changing national, regional and local trends that may impact program areas.
14. Advises the district leadership on the financial implications of technology programs.
15. Administers programs within approved budget parameters including allocation of financial, technology, and staff (FTE) resources.
16. Recognizes the need and formulates policies necessary to implement district information technology management goals and objectives.
17. Assesses, evaluates, coaches, and provides for training and professional development of all staff. Creates communication, collaboration and coordination processes that assure all staff are timely and effectively informed of departmental policies, issues, and guidance that their programs are expected to support.
18. Oversees and maintains security of systems, networks, and enterprise information; facilitates IT security audits or investigations.
19. Upgrades and installs computer hardware and instructional software programs on districtwide computers.
20. Maintains and makes repairs to all computer and phone equipment districtwide.
21. Troubleshoots and finds solutions for the electronic/technology equipment in the buildings.
22. Provides adequate back-up resources for programs and files on the building systems.
23. Maintains system availability by working directly with appropriate support personnel to correct network problems.
24. Maintains network operating systems and all vendor supplied utilities at the most current release.
25. Provides network utilization and capacity planning information and recommendations.
26. Follows and maintains knowledge of all district policies and procedures.
27. Performs other reasonable duties as assigned.
28. Attends work regularly and is punctual.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

 Knowledge of current technology environments including telecommunications, networks, database administration, programming, media, and desktops.
 Knowledge of GSuite for Education platform and ability to use/learn to use programs to support student/classroom chromebooks.
 Strong project management skills and demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage programs and projects.
 Experience in the application of technology to instructional practice (may be substituted in part for the three (3) years of technology management and/or leadership experience).
 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
 Understanding and demonstration of “client-centered” support and services.
 Ability to work harmoniously with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship across teams, functions, and layers with district staff and the general public and to contribute to a successful work group.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in the K-12 instructional application of technology.
• Knowledge and experience in district specific technology equipment, systems, and applications.
• Experience with Synergy Student Information Systems and Tyler Technologies iVisions platforms.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with computer coding and script writing.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is appropriate. A representative way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:

Training
Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Experience
3 years of technology management and/or leadership experience.

Certificates as determined by the District. Ability to obtain a valid CPR/First Aid card and valid Oregon Drivers License.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand/walk for long periods of time and occasionally sit. The employee is required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may use hands for repetitive single/double grasping, pushing and pulling and fine manipulation. The employee will regularly need to bend, squat or kneel, lift, climb steps and utilize tools. Medium to heavy work-lifting of 40-65 pounds repetitively with repetitive lifting, sitting, standing/walking movements.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. The noise level in this position varies. When visiting a building the noise level will be loud, in the office, quiet and at meetings, moderate.

EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of district policy and the collective bargaining agreement.

COMPENSATION
$82,135.04 - $106,250.56
260-day contract
