POSITION: MS Counselor 24/25 SY
Harrisburg operates on a 4-day school week M-TH. Work days and hours are flexible for this position, which means it is possible to personalize work times and days.
COMPENSATION: $42,756- $83,880
Placement on the salary schedule will be commensurate with education, experience, and work schedule. District policy GCBA will be implemented.

Job Overview:
The Middle School Counselor will provide comprehensive support services to students in grades 5-8. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in counseling, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping young adolescents navigate the challenges of middle school. The counselor will work closely with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to promote student success and well-being.
Responsibilities: The following is not a comprehensive list of duties.
Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, personal, social, and emotional issues.
Develop and implement programs to support students' mental health and well-being.
Assist students in setting academic and career goals, and create plans to achieve them.
Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify and address student needs.
Conduct assessments and provide referrals to outside resources when necessary.
Organize and facilitate workshops and presentations on relevant topics such as bullying prevention, conflict resolution, and stress management.
Maintain accurate records and confidentiality of student information.
Participate in parent-teacher conferences and guide parents in supporting their child's development.
Contribute to a positive school climate and culture through proactive initiatives and involvement in school activities.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field.
Valid state certification as a School Counselor.
Previous experience working with middle school students is preferred.
Strong understanding of adolescent development and the unique challenges faced by middle school students.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
