Vernonia High School Math Teacher

Minimum Qualifications: License: Possess a valid Oregon Teaching license with appropriate endorsements.
Position Status: This is a full-time 1.0 FTE, licensed position with a contract for the 2024-25 School Year.

2024-25 Contracted Highlights Include:
*COLA of 5% / District Paid 6% PERS PickUp
*186 Day Calendar / 6 Paid Holidays
*3 Personal Days Annually (paid out at end of year if not used) / 12 Days Sick Leave Annually
*$1,525.00 monthly District insurance contribution for medical / dental / vision premiums
*$345.00 monthly Health Savings Account District contribution with enrollment in qualified high deductible medical plan
*Annual tuition reimbursement for amount equal to 3 credits at the Portland State University rate

Job Responsibilities:
*Develop an instructional program of study that meets all students' needs.
*High School mathematics include but not limited to: Basic math, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Pre Calculus, and advanced math courses.
*Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
*Demonstrate positive, effective communication skills with students, staff, and parents.
*Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, based on the Common Core State Standards.
*Establish clear objectives for all instruction, communicating them to students and parents.
*Implement engaging, student centered instructional activities
*AVID experience preferred
*Ability to teach dual credit courses desired
