MTSS Lead/Instructional Coach (TOSA) - Mills Elementary - Starting the 2024-2025 School Year

SALARY: $49,638.36-$92,138.12 DOE + 4% of Base stipend. Prorated based upon FTE.

Hiring Bonus: All new hire teachers that are properly licensed and endorsed (meaning- not on an emergency license, restricted license, or with a conditional assignment endorsement) will receive the signing bonus. For staff that are not properly licensed or endorsed, they shall receive the bonus once properly licensed/endorsed (within three years of hire) and will be paid as defined below as much as possible. This bonus will not be extended to current District teachers or former District teachers (including retirees) who left the district in the last five years. The signing bonus will be paid in three payments: Year one (1): $2,500; Year two (2): $1,500; and Year three (3) $1,000. Prorated basd upon FTE.

Insurance: Generous Health, dental, and vision contribution from the district, currently up to $2,130 (based upon family coverage), TBD for 2024-2025.

PERS Retirement: The district assumes and pays the 6% average employee contribution to the Oregon PERS system.

SCHEDULE: 190 Days + 3 days new teacher inservice

Summary:

Klamath Falls City Schools is looking for a dynamic and passionate full-time teacher to carry out responsibiilities as a K-5 MTSS Multi-Tiered System of Support Intervention Lead Implementation Coordinator (TOSA). The other half of this job entails being an K-5 MTSS Instructional Coach. We are looking for someone who is a master teacher who is a dynamic, passionate self-starter to work cooperatively with the administrative team and instructional staff to support classroom teachers in becoming proficient literacy instructors to support new elementary teachers, mentors, and the mentor coordinator. The person who is hired for this position will need to have excellent communication skills; the ability to quickly build a strong rapport with new elementary teachers, their mentors, and the mentor coordinator; be comfortable modeling instruction for teachers; have a background in coaching; and have experience providing training to certified staff; a background in selecting and providing academic interventions for K-5 students in need of additional math or literacy support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide guidance, support and instruction for successful implementation of (Tier 2 and 3) small intervention groups in the areas of math and language arts
Support building leadership in designing a fully integrated master bell schedule
Facilitate the screening, identification and scheduling of students needing additional academic support
Plan, implement and modify intervention for students identified as needing additional academic support
Ensure that interventions are implemented with fidelity and progress is monitored frequently
Plan for and monitor the delivery of MTSS Tier II and III interventions
Train paraprofessionals for high quality MTSS Tier II and III interventions
Facilitate EBIS and 100% Team Meetings where schoolwide academic data in order to evaluate the effectiveness of universal programs to support the successful implementation of Tier I instruction.
Facilitate Individual Problem-Solving (IPS) Meetings with parents, teachers, and specialists to develop a successful action plan when an individualized approach is needed
Provide consultation, coordination, training, in-service and/or staff development to staff on evidence-based practices for teaching literacy and math interventions within the context of the district-wide MTSS with a high level of professional rigor.
Willingness and expectation to participate in ongoing professional development related to the position.
Regularly meet with new teachers, their mentors, and the mentor coordinator
Provide training in instructional best practices including classroom management, and ELA, and Math practices
Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning
Provide guidance and support for successful implementation of Tier I instruction in classrooms
Provide consultation, coordination, training, in-service and/or staff development to new elementary teachers on evidence-based practices for teaching;
Model effective instructional techniques within classrooms (both in-person and virtually) and in staff trainings;
Works closely with building administration to ensure new teachers are supported
Attends and participates in faculty meetings;
Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods;
Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others;
Provides for own professional growth.
Support with disrupted learning when neccessary in teacher classrooms who you are an instructional coach for.
Work with district and building leadership teams to build a sustainable MTSS infrastructure based on the principles of implementation science
Maintain regular on-time attendance.
Maintain/complete all certifications and endorsements as required by TSPC and ODE
Other relevant duties as assigned by the administrator

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION:

Hold or qualify for an Oregon teaching license through Teacher Standards and Practices
Commission with an ECE/ELE endorsement.
ESOL endorsement
5+ years of successful classroom teaching experience
Familiarity with using Data to drive decision making.
Background in RTI/MTSS systems and procedures
Experience training staff in both one-on-one, small-group, and large-group formats.
ESOL endorsement preferred.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) skills preferred, but not required.
BeGLAD Trained preferred
SIOP Trained preferred
AVID Trained preferred
