SUMMARY: The Assistant Principal promotes the educational development of elementary students through effective supervision and interaction with school personnel, students, parents, patrons and administrators.

REQUIRED:
- Oregon Administrator License or Ability to Obtain
- Experience with students experiencing poverty
- Experience with emerging bilingual students
- Classroom teaching (minimum three years of experience)

SUMMARY:
- The Assistant Principal promotes the educational development of elementary students through effective supervision and interaction with school personnel, students, parents, patrons and administrators.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:
All or some of the following tasks may be required. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist in the administration of the school and its instructional program a assigned by the principal
- Supervise and evaluate personnel as assigned.
- Assist in staff development via in-service that includes both individu al and group activities.
- Participate in curriculum development.
- Attend meetings of the board as directed by the elementary principal.
- Conduct school, home and community communications as assigned.
- Assist the building principal in budgetary matters.
- Stay current and contribute to practices and research as they pertain to education, school operation and school administra tion.
- Communicates regularly with the principal.
- Support the principal by assisting with scheduling, student supervision, staff support and facilities management.
- Coordinate with playground supervisors to ensure a safe environment.
- Assist students with positive behavior plans that create student success for classroom behavior, attendance and performance.
- Develop building schedules as needed for special events and oversee the duty schedule for both the regular education school days as well as other events.
- Coordinate the calendar of safety drills with other buildings.
- Coordinate the calendar of facilities use with the maintenance department.
- Comply with all Board policies, administrative regulations and District procedures, as well as all state, federal and local laws and regulations
- Other duties as assigned by building principal or superintendent
