St. Paul Middle/High School is seeking a High School Business/CTE Teacher responsible for providing instruction on a range of subjects which include marketing and sales, entrepreneurship, computer applications and business software, digital media, and business development based on the strengths of the teacher. St. Paul High School has an active business leaders club with over 60 active members.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the candidate to hold, or be eligible to hold an Oregon CTE Educator License. Multiple endorsements preferred but not required. Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required. Highly qualified candidates will possess an understanding of both adolescent learning and industry practices. Applicants must commit to upholding the tenets of the Competent and Ethical Educator as defined in OAR 584-020.
OTHER ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assist in the development of and participate in activities designed to promote an innovative business marketing program including school and student-run businesses.
Serve as one of two senior class advisors overseeing senior projects and graduation
Manage and advise St. Paul Business Leaders Club (SPBL) and incorporate leadership activities into the business marketing curriculum.
Develop and maintain program budgets (student fees and SPBL) following district and building guidelines.
Develop community and industry partnerships and Work Based Learning opportunities for students.
Order supplies, instructional materials, and equipment necessary for our school-based businesses.
Provide information and counsel students relative to employment, career opportunities and further education.
Participate in district, regional and state CTE meetings/conventions
Work cooperatively with the other CTE teachers and the College and Career Readiness Coordinator, to design and implement curriculum.
Recruit and retain students into the program of study to increase pathway participation and completion.
