We are seeking two Student Success Plan Coordinators for the anticipated Immigrant/Refugee Student Success Plan to join the Oregon Department of Education. Keeping at center the unique needs of these student groups, one of these positions will focus on immigrant student success and the other on refugee student success. Join our dynamic team, where you'll collaborate on strategic initiatives, oversee grants, and champion equity in education. Our Immigrant/Refugee Student Success Plan Coordinators coordinate with various partners, manage grant programs, and provide professional learning support in equity, diversity, and inclusion.
The Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (OEDI) leads proactive equity initiatives that interrupt and eliminate harmful power dynamics that are endemic in Oregon’s education system. Our initiatives are driven by deep and ongoing engagement with the lived experiences of our students and families so that we can provide intentional structures, practices, and policies that uphold their intersecting identities, needs, and strengths. As a result of our agency’s collective commitment, we will create an equitable education system centered in justice, relationships, and healing to ensure that every student can achieve their highest potential. Our collective energy and urgency serves as a touchpoint for pivotal cross departmental and cross- agency collaboration towards a shared vision for equity throughout Oregon.
Our amazing benefits include:
• Excellent medical, vision and dental benefit package for the employee and qualified family members with very low monthly out-of-pocket cost
• Paid days off –
o 11 paid holidays per year,
o 3 additional paid "Personal Business Days" per year,
o 8 hours of sick leave accumulated every month,
o Progressive vacation leave accrual and increases every 5 years.
• In addition to standard medical benefits and employee leave, the state also provides additional optional benefits, such as basic life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, deferred compensation savings program, and flexible spending accounts for health care and child care expenses.
• Student Loan Forgiveness Program: if you have federal student loan debt or are thinking of going back to school, then you will want to look into this program. If you make 120 qualifying payments on your student loan while working full time for a qualifying employer, your student loan debt may be forgiven.
