Recovery School Teacher: Math and Science
Harmony Academy, Oregon's first school for adolescents in recovery from substance use disorders, seeks a skilled and passionate teacher to join our amazing staff. Harmony’s innovative program is youth-centered, and our team is collaborative, mission-focused, and supportive. Teachers enjoy small class sizes and a collegial environment, as they help formerly disengaged youth find success in a public-school program that integrates recovery and education into community. Harmony Academy has open enrollment throughout the year, and a small population of unique students from all over the tri-county Portland area. Our mission is to provide a safe, sober, and supportive education for these youth in their early recovery, where they can develop the skills and strengths needed for personal, academic, vocational and community success. It's an exciting journey.
We are seeking a teacher to join our staff in December. In addition to math and science classes, the successful candidate will work with the instructional team to build a strong schedule of academic and elective offerings that support learning in a small, specialized environment. Teachers must be licensed, but under ORS 338 do not need to be endorsed in every subject(s) they teach.
Minimum Requirements
• Current TSPC license,
• Subject area expertise,
• At least two years of full-time classroom teaching,
