JOB TITLE: Temporary Middle School Wellness Elective Teacher. 1.0 FTE
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB SUMMARY: To provide education services to students in the classroom setting. The teacher instructs students on academic, intellectual, physical and social-emotional growth and wellness. Full job description available upon request.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
2. Hold or be eligible for Oregon Teaching certification with middle school-level authorization.
3. Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff and parents.
4. Willingness to work with extra-curricular activities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Multiple endorsements, Trauma Informed Care knowledge and SIOP/Constructive Meaning training.
2. Certification in Physical Education.
3. Computer/Technology skills.
4. Spanish speaking skills.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide instruction that supports student’s academic, social-emotional and physical wellness. Classes might include/support: weights and conditioning, study support, yoga, mindfulness, self regulation and coping skills, life skills and makers space or STEAM.
2. Evaluate the academic and social growth of students and maintain appropriate records.
3. Use data plan for instruction.
4. Participate in curriculum and or faculty committees as interested or required.
5. Work collaboratively with other staff members to support student learning.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190-day contract at 1.0 FTE, temporary for the 2023-2024 school year. Based on current SEA salary schedule and negotiated agreement, salary $45,005 - $91,359 with excellent benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance and Oregon state retirement. Paid time off includes one sick day per month worked and two personal days, prorated pro-rated per school year. Starting: immediately.
