JOB TITLE: Elementary Educational Assistant – Special Education, 32.5 hours per week (6.5 hours/day average) 0.81 FTE
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Classroom Teachers
JOB SUMMARY: To assist classroom teachers with individual and/or small group learning in special and general education classrooms and provide student supervision as needed. Staff will be asked to support students with a variety of needs, which could include academic, social, functional and behavioral supports. A primary focus is the establishment of a positive learning environment that promotes a high level of achievement and inclusion for all students. Full job description available upon request.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Criminal history clearance (background check and HB 2062).
3. Ability to meet Highly Qualified Paraprofessional standards (2 years of college, Associates degree or pass WorkKeys skills test).
4. Basic computer/technology skills.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Works a school year calendar, approximately 186 days at FTE 0.81. Based on current OSEA salary schedule and negotiated agreement, salary (code 8 – starting $16.77/hr. – $19.37/hr.) with excellent benefits including Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance and Oregon state retirement.
