Provide ELA instruction to 9th-12th grade students, other duties as assigned by principal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current Oregon Teaching License; multiple endorsements a plus.
Provide an academically rigorous curriculum that aligns with the English department curriculum/content maps and the Common Core Standards
• Possess experience in implementing an effective writing program that emphasizes the writing process
• Possess experience in assessing student writing for both formative and summative purposes.
• Be able to engage students in critical thinking and inquiry
• Participate in professional learning teams, departmental goals, and school-wide professional development initiatives.
• Monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments.
• Maintain accurate student grades, records and/or portfolios.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with students and staff. Communicate effectively and consistently with parents and colleagues.
• Possess excellent written and oral communication
• Possess the ability to differentiate instruction to students with accommodations and or modifications
• Plan and facilitate hands on/ project based learning to support and enhance classroom curriculum;
