Yamhill Carlton SD - District Technology Coordinator
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related area or equivalent training.
Demonstrated, successful experience in networking, computer communications, technologies, and/or help desk support, with at least two years in a leadership position.
Ability to articulate technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
Possess strong self-motivation, self-initiative, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Extensive working knowledge of the development and operation of LANs and WANs.
Reports To: Superintendent
Job Goal: Provide leadership, coordination, and technical assistance for the design, implementation, operation, and evaluation of a comprehensive computer and technology program for the District, grades K-12, including staff support.
Performance Responsibilities:
Demonstrates proficiency in planning, organizing and coordinating assigned tasks.
Attends training classes, both internal and external, to increase employee's understanding of this field and the technology used.
Provides technical assistance to users with operation of microcomputer hardware and software.
Provide leadership in updating and implementing the District Technology Plan for computer/technology services for the District, as approved by the Board.
Recruit, train, and supervise student interns and/or assistants who may be hired or assigned to assist with District technology support.
Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware and software for the District.
Maintain confidentiality and integrity of electronic records.
Performs eDiscovery, as directed by the superintendent or building administrator.
Performs files' maintenance activities such as backing-up automated files, transferring files between computer systems and implementing file naming and archiving standards.
Develop and implement plans for acquisition and maintenance of network equipment, hardware, and software.
Installs new hardware, software applications and upgrades and adjusts applications to meet user needs.
Trains users in hardware and software operation.
Assists with the support of desktop application software.
Work collaboratively with District administrators to select, deploy, and maintain educational technology software and hardware.
Work within the District budget and purchasing procedures to secure adequate resources for computers/technology utilizing good consumer skills when dealing with vendors.
Disseminate technology-related information throughout the District through appropriate means.
Diagnoses hardware problems and recommends replacement or repair of failing component(s).
Use good judgment in decision making where there may be no established rules, regulations, policies, or precedent.
Provide leadership to teachers in incorporating technology into instruction.
Oversee network and domain operations, maintenance, and security.
Oversee the federal e-rate application process.
Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Works collaboratively with the Maintenance Director to develop and maintain HVAC, access control, and security systems as they relate to networking and communication.
Oversee and maintain District communications systems: VoIP, Intercom, and automated electronic notifications.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Employee may be subjected to various fumes, humidity, and equipment noise.
Employee may use and view a computer screen for prolonged periods of time.
Employee may read small numbers/print on paper and on the computer screen.
Employee may need to provide own transportation.
In an eight hour day, employee may: stand/walk 6-8 hours; sit 4-6 hours; drive 4-6 hours.
Employee may use hands for repetitive: single grasping; pushing and pulling; fine manipulation.
Employee may need to: bend or twist frequently; squat frequently; climb occasionally; lift 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Contract - 240 Days
Salary Scale - $75,000 - $84,856 Annually
