We are seeking a Sexuality Education Analyst (Program Analyst 2) to join our Office of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment at the Oregon Department of Education. This is a part-time, limited duration position represented by the Service Employee International Union (SEIU). This position is funded through December 31, 2024. This position may be extended pending funding availability.

This position is ideal for those seeking more work/life balance. Remote work or a hybrid of remote/office work will be considered in filling this position. What you will do!

The purpose of this position is to support school districts to implement comprehensive sexuality education programs by coordinating and providing professional learning opportunities, developing and publishing resources, and assessing the needs of educators in the state.

Typical Duties Include:

Evaluating, determining, and recommending professional learning priorities to support district implementation of comprehensive sexuality education programs.

Planning, coordinating, and co-facilitating in-person and online synchronous training opportunities for educators (OTTI) to support districts in their implementation of Sexuality Health Education standards.

Creating, reviewing, and evaluating student-facing instructional materials related to sexuality education standards and requirements, as part of the Sex Ed Open Learning Project and similar projects. This includes identifying resources that are culturally responsive and inclusive of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and racial and/or ethnic identities.

Developing communication resources supporting the implementation of sexuality education designed to maintain positive relationships with the public, program stakeholders, other agencies, and related service programs

What are we looking for?

A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years experience coordinating or administering a program

OR

Any combination of experience or education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.

Desired Attributes

Candidates who are the most competitive will possess a compelling combination of the following background, skills, and experience:

Experience with sexual health standards

Strong comprehensive oral and written communication skills

Experience with presentation software, Google Applications, and other virtual collaboration platforms.

Experience providing advice or technical assistance to school districts, tribes, community groups or public.

Ability to establish effective relationships with a variety of partners and community groups representing diverse perspectives

Ability to collaboratively work across the agency, state government, with school districts, public charter schools and private schools

Demonstrated ability for project management
