Description:
Sisters School District is in search of a Permanent, Full-time School Counselor at
Sisters High School. This is a 190-day position for 8 hours per day.

Job Definition:
A Counselor's role is to guide students with academic, behavior, and social development. Counselors consult with students, teachers and parents to identify developmental needs and design prevention or intervention activities in order to guide students on a healthy path toward adulthood or to help students be successful students and individuals. A counselor implements guidance and initiatives according to learning theories and the educational philosophy of the school. Utilizing leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, school counselors promote student success, provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development for all students.

Qualifications:
Positive motivating instructor:
● Must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree.
● Oregon School Counselor License through TSPC with a School Counselor Endorsement.
● Submission of professional application materials.
● Good communication skills with staff, parents and community.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and climb stairs. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Salary: $39,667.00 - $78,023.00 Based on education and experience per CBA. Excellent benefits package and Employer-paid PERS.
