Position Title: High School Mathematics Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS:
Hold current Oregon Teaching License with Advanced Mathematics
endorsement.
Must meet TSPC license requirements.
Must be capable and willing to teach all students and all mathematics topics
offered at the high school.
Must know and use Culturally Relevant Practices and Family Engagement strategies.
Appropriate integration of technology in the learning process.
Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and concisely, and
communicate with students and families.
Experience and desire to work collaboratively on a Professional Learning Team
using a variety of data to grow professionally.
Bicultural/Biliterate preferred.
Documented recommendations on the following:
Believes all students can learn mathematics and holds high
expectations for student learning.
Highly motivated to continue professional growth using students results
as a guidepost
Exceptional communication skills for dealing with students, parents,
staff and patrons.
Flexibility to teach different grade levels and subject matter, from entry
level to advanced mathematics courses.
SPECIAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience with standards-based instruction and use of formative assessment
strategies and feedback loops.
Clear understanding of the Common Core State Standards and the
instructional shifts they require.
