Imbler School District is located between the picturesque Mt. Emily and Mt. Harris in the Grande Ronde Valley in northeastern Oregon. Serving the communities of Imbler and Summerville, the district campus in Imbler is approximately 12 miles northeast of La Grande, Oregon and 8 miles southwest of Elgin, Oregon. Imbler is an agriculturally-based community. While the agriculture is diverse, the community proudly calls itself the "grass seed capital of the world." Eastern Oregon is a mecca for those interested in the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, hiking, biking and other sports abound in the area. Wallowa Lake, considered the Switzerland of America, is located to the east, as is the Eagle Cap Wilderness. At the same time, the presence of Eastern Oregon University in La Grande offers a number of cultural and educational activities. In addition, there is an Opera House in neighboring Elgin that is well-known in the area for their musical productions.
The employee selected for this position is primarily responsible for effective teaching and learning for Elementary Music, Elementary Band, Junior High/High School Band and Choir. Other possible assignments based on qualifications. Must follow district approved curriculum, instruction and assessment practices. Primary responsibility shall include student safety and appropriate collaboration and attention to each student’s readiness to learn including needed guidance, discipline, and welfare. In carrying out their responsibilities, teachers follow District policy and standard practices and administrative unit regulations.
Qualifications:
Have or be able to obtain Oregon teaching license with K-12 authorization
Have or be able to obtain Music endorsement
Job Availability: Starts: On or about 8/13/2025 (TBD once calendar is approved)

Salary/Benefits: Range: $43,926 - $82,877
District pays PERS contribution. $1,850 per month insurance cap
The past two years, the Imbler School District has been on a four-day week schedule. The Board will be voting on March 18th to determine the schedule for the upcoming school year.
