2024 Preventing Restraint and Seclusion in Oregon Schools
Webinar Overview: This interactive, scenario-based series offers participants a practical and immersive learning experience. Through realistic early childhood, elementary, and teen scenarios, participants will explore legal regulations, preventative strategies and reporting procedures. The sessions build sequentially to deepen understanding of compliance, safety, and best practices related to restraint and seclusion. All sessions will be recorded.
- Module 1: Legal Parameters & Requirements
- Participants will explore federal and state laws governing restraint and seclusion, including ORS 339.285 through 339.308, and analyze research findings on their impact. Case studies will provide context for applying regulations, with a focus on how these practices align with mandatory reporting of child abuse.
