2022 Superintendent Equity Academy
April 24, 2022 (Principals Conference in Bend)

Participants will:
- Develop a shared consciousness of the role race and culture play in leading school districts
- Build capacity to explicitly and courageously lead for equity and in support of historically underserved students
Structure:
- Single Cohort of 30 Superintendents
- Two In-Person Sessions
- April 24, 12:00-4:00 @ Principals Conference in Bend
- June 22, 9:00-4:00 @ COSA Conference in Seaside
- Virtual Check-in before the first session and after session 1
- Small group (five superintendents)
- Affinity based (district size and geography)
- Time to process issues, share experiences, discuss steps taken
- Access to facilitators via virtual contact throughout the workshop
- Participants are committing to the entire experience
- Exploring a second year option
Facilitators:
Matt Utterback
- Former superintendent of the North Clackamas School District
- Oversaw the building of a school district culture focused on equity and equitable outcomes for each student
- Currently serving as a coach/mentor to educational administrators
Jocelyn Bigay
- CEO and lead consultant of LMB Consulting, a boutique education consulting firm
- Professional development specialist focused on educational equity and organizational development
- 21 years’ experience as an educator, school administrator, and district leader
